Our Work

Household Poverty Alleviation

Changing Lives, One at a Time!

BACKGROUND

We reach out to needy persons in rural places; and during calamities with emergency relief where we donate foodstuffs and basic necessities, first aid and counseling services as we share the gospel of Christ.

The $1.25 per person a day threshold for extreme poverty is a standard adopted by the World Bank and other international organisations to reflect the minimum consumption and income level needed to meet a person’s basic needs. That means that people who fall under that poverty line — that’s 1/6 of the world’s population, or 1.4 billion people — lack the ability to fulfil basic needs, whether it means eating only one bowl of rice a day or forgoing health care when it’s needed most.

In addition to that, 95% live in homes with dirt floors and roofs that fail to keep out the rain and other elements; homes often lack basic sanitary latrines. Many of their communities lack basic services such as public education and health care.

In a nation such as Uganda, where the ravages of Aids and the lasting conflicts of war have decimated families, one finds a significant proportion of the youth orphaned. As one of the most unprotected groups of people, orphans are faced with a demeaning poverty trap which they cannot fight all alone. Many have no relatives ready to help, no place to go, no food to eat and with these basic necessities unfulfilled, thoughts of an education are nonexistent. Working with the extreme poor is more time consuming and costly than working with other populations because their needs are so vast.

What good is it my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith help him??” James 2:14

We reach out to needy persons in remote places; and during calamities with emergency relief where we donate basic necessities, first aid and counseling services as we share the gospel of Christ. Commission International has fed thousands of families with basic foods such as maize meal, flour, beans, sugar, cooking oil and; other family basic needs like blankets, clothing, shoes and etc.

Partner with us today by donating clothes, shoes, beddings, scholastic materials and items you don’t need. You can change a life today.

INVEST IN REAL PEOPLE

We established a Credit Union (Embassy Finance Credit Union) to help empower household families with micro loan facilities of between $100-$1000 with a small a small interest rate, to help our sustainable service to the communities.

Its’ therefore against the above background that Commission International established a platform of empowering household families to economically develop themselves from a lasting dependence on relief and aid to a lasting self – sustainability position.

We will send you a package with details as soon as you show us interest in partnering us in this cause of investing into real people and with details of your benefits.

We have seen this as an effective way to empower the rural and poverty stricken communities, with outstanding testimonies. We therefore invite you to join this cause of investing into real people, by considering an investment.
