Why Are Partnerships Central to Our Mission?
A mission aimed at ending child vulnerability and giving them an education, providing relief to devastated people, aid and empowering needy communities, restoring hope to the lost and hurting world requires collective action. No single organization, government, or community can achieve lasting change alone. At Commission International, we believe that partnerships are essential to improving child well-being, strengthening communities, and creating sustainable development in communities. We work alongside faith communities, civil society organizations, businesses, academic institutions, donors, governments and local communities to deliver greater impact.
We seek to collaborate at the local, national, regional, and global levels; we combine expertise, resources, and influence to advance humanitarian action, long-term development solutions, and the message of hope for communities to thrive.
For the past span of decades, hunger has been the no.1 killer in Africa. Provided foods (cereals and grains, cooking oils, etc.) to help us feed the hungry people in IDP Camps for example Amuru IDP, Pabbo IDP, among others, and families in war torn communities in northern Uganda region, during the post-war devastation caused by the Lord’s Resistance Army rebels in the 20 year long lived war against the government of Uganda.
The food supplies to our Food Bank Project were estimated at $200,000.
Championed a fundraising campaign that raised support of over 20 native pastors and leaders in rural Uganda, free bible distributions to communities that couldn’t afford one. They also jump started the River Nile Farms and Aquaculture with a fund that helped us secure pigs and goats as seed capital to several poor families. They also helped establish a nice restrooms, water and sports ground for the River Nile Academy. Their gift amounts to over $50,000.
When we shared our need for energy provision in the poverty stricken communities that we are serving in the River Nile Campus community, they immediately, positively responded and provided hydro-electricity power. Not forgetting our own River Nile Academy and entire Campus with a full 3 phase electricity power supply and an independent power transformer valued at nearly $100,000. This has given us a platform to be able to establish and provide vocational and skilling opportunities at our campus to mostly youths and women, who are jobless so that they are empowered to self.
After licensing and giving permit to the River Nile Farms and Aquaculture limited arm of Commission International; the Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries has continued to partner with us in our empowering our trainings of peasants into modern cage and pond fish farming to empower domestic economic development through the Kayunga District Fisheries Offices (DFO).
They have also supplied us with Kroiler chicks, fruit trees and seedlings to empower our campaign in training farmers to move from subsistence into commercial farming to empower families.
They have also supplied us with fish fingerings, fish feeds, seedlings and trees, etc. to a tune of $50,000.
We enjoyed a health partnership in providing health services through free medical camps and clinics in the areas of Kayunga district. We’ve also collaborated in the cancer fight, malaria fight, and fight against other common diseases and sickness. We continue to enjoy a healthy relationship and partnership in serving various communities.
